Call-for-Papers for Warpstock Europe 2010 in Trier

Warpstock Europe is _the_ conference in Europe for OS/2 and eCS and _the_ meeting place für users, developers and software companies.

As every year we want to offer a comprehensive and diversified program. So we invite you to submit your paper and present it to an international audience of users.

Now is your chance to contribute to the OS/2 and eCS event in Europe.

Matching with this year\'s motto - an analysis of the current situation of OS/2 and eCS - the Warpstock Europe Event Team would be happy to get papers for the following topics. But do not hesitate to submit your own suggestion.

 Unix-Tools for OS/2 and eCS

 The Unix Tools for OS/2 and eCS enrich the OS/2 environment with strong scripting and automazation capablities known from Unix systems. The presentation could cover the following subjects:

 

* Why use df, diff, grep, ssh and others?

* Installation of Unix-Tools on OS/2 and eCS

* How to use the Unix-Tools - some examples

* Commandlines for OS/2 beside the standard

 

Current Printers under OS/2 and eCS (maybe together with \"Creating PDFs ...\")

 How can one use modern printing hardware and its capabilities under OS/2 and eCS. The presentation could cover the following subjects:

 * CUPS

* GutenPrint

* PostScript

 

Creating PDFs with OS/2 and eCS

 Adobes Portable Document Format is the de facto standard for publishing electronic documents. Will OS/2 and eCS users still be able to generate up to date PDF files? The presentation could cover the following subjects:

 * GhostScript

* ePDF

* PostScript Printer Driver

 

GnuPG and Enigmail for Thunderbird 3 on OS/2

 Encryption and Digital Signatures are the key to a secure and binding electronic exchange of messages. How can OS/2 and eCS users participate in such a communication infrastructures? The presentation could cover the following subjects:

 * Why sign and/or encrypt your emails?

* How to install Thunderbird 3, Enigmail and GnuPG on OS/2

* How to create your own signature

* How to securely store and backup your keys

* How to write signed/encrypted emails

* How to validate mails you have received

 

 Please consider the following information when submitting your presentation:

 * Presentations/proposals for presentations have to be submittet by 11th of April at the latest.

* Presentations are built of blocks of 45 minutes. Maximum duration of a presentation is two blocks.

* A presentation will be given on two different days to allow for people attending a parallel session to attend your presentation, too. Please contact the Speaker Coordinator in advance if you can give yor presentation on one day, only.

* Presentation language should be English as Warpstock Europe is an international conference. Second language accepted is German. Please contact the Speaker Coordinator in advance if you want to give your presentation in German.

* The presentation material (slides, handouts, etc.) have to be submitted to the Speaker Coordinator at the 2nd of May at the latest. The material must be in PDF or OpenDocument format. Presentation material must be in English. Please contact the Speaker Coordinator if you need help for translating your presentation.
