Agena 0.31.7 Programming Language Released

Friday May 07, 2010  By: Christian Hennecke

Agena 0.31.7 for OS/2 and eComStation has been released. Agena is an easy-to-learn procedural programming language designed to be used in scientific, educational, linguistic, graphical, and many other applications, including scripting. Agena provides you with all the means you need to implement your ideas quickly: fast real and complex arithmetics, efficient text processing, graphics, flexible data structures, intelligent procedures, simple package management, plus various configuration facilities in multi-user environments. The syntax resembles very simplified Algol 68 with elements taken from Maple, Lua and SQL.

Changes:

Agena now features built-in graphics. This will allow you to plot graphs, images, etc. in X11 or Win32 windows or to GIF, PNG, JPEG, FIG, or PostScript files, both in Solaris, Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. Agena binds to the g2 graphical library written by Ljubomir Milanovic and Horst Wagner, to provide these new capabilities.

Agena 0.31 includes all the basic tools to plot points, lines, circles, ellipses, rectangles, arcs. etc., to control image size, and colours.
