FtpServer version 2.76 released

Thursday October 03, 2019  By: Peter Moylan

FtpServer version 2.76 can now be downloaded from

www.pmoylan.org/pages/os2/FtpServer.html

or from

ftp://ftp.pmoylan.org/FtpServer/ftpser_2.76.zip

or from Hobbes incoming. Source code, if desired, can also be found at
the same places.

FtpServer is a free open source FTP daemon for OS/2. It differs from the
default ftpd that comes with OS/2 by having more flexible access
controls (e.g. a different virtual file system for each user), and it
can handle large files.

This version of FtpServer expects to use INIDATA.DLL and XDS230M.DLL,
which are not included. If you don't already have them, you can download
ftp://ftp.pmoylan.org/software/inidata_1.0.zip
which contains the two DLLs. (And the source code for INIDATA.DLL) This
should be a one-off download, because is unlikely that INIDATA.DLL will
be revised very often.

Recommendation: although these DLLs can be anywhere on your LIBPATH,
ArcaOS users should probably put them in \usr\local\lib. If your \usr
doesn't have a "local" subdirectory, please read the INIData
documentation for the suggested subdirectory structure.

This version of FtpServer continues to include legacy text-mode
utilities VIOSetup and tmonitor, which have had few updates over the
years and so don't support some newer options. I would be interested to
hear from anyone who is still using these utilities, so I can decide
whether to scrap or to improve them.
